International Business Development Representative

Pay: CA$60,000.00 – CA$65,000.00 per year plus commission

Full time/Hybrid

 

Reporting to the Director of Sales, the International Business Development Representative is responsible for developing and growing distributor relationships primarily in the United States and other international markets. The role focuses on identifying and securing new distribution partners, expanding existing accounts, and driving revenue growth through regular communication with English-speaking customers, prospects, and business partners. This role is heavily focused on outbound prospecting, partner acquisition, and revenue generation, balanced with hands-on account management to drive performance and long-term growth within the current distributor network.

 

This is a full-time position for someone with previous experience in medical business development or sales, and whose day-to-day work will center on international markets — particularly the United States.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Identify and open new distributor accounts in targeted markets (business sectors, organizations, states and countries).
  • Work with existing accounts to expand on current business.
  • Respond to requests from companies wanting to become a Batrik distributor and actively prospect and follow up leads.
  • Market Research.
  • Liaise with Canadian Trade Commissioners in foreign markets.
  • Support new distributors/agents with training, sales programs, and selling materials.
  • Coordinate with customer service to support new distributors, agents, etc. and help address issues of concern related to customers.
  • Facilitate new distribution channels (B2B, internet, telemarketing, etc.)
  • Generate and coordinate private label initiatives.
  • Work with purchasing and marketing to ensure adequate inventory levels, competitive and market information.
  • Support tender submissions by our channel partners.
  • Participate and represent the company at industry trade fairs.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Minimum of 5 years of Sales and Marketing
  • Experience in the Medical Device Industry, preferred
  • Exposure to International markets
  • Experience in developing global distribution networks
  • Exposure to both manufacturing and distribution business models desirable
  • University degree; business management education desirable
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills, as the role involves conducting business development activities, negotiations, presentations, and ongoing communication with distributors, prospects, and business partners primarily located in the United States and other international markets.*

*This position requires knowledge of a language other than French, namely English, because the employee is required to communicate regularly with distributors, prospective customers, and business partners located primarily in the United States and other international markets. These communications include business development activities, sales presentations, negotiations, account management, training, and responding to customer inquiries.
