Mitchell K. Goldberg graduated from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, with a double major in Finance and Management Information Systems. After graduation he spent the next six years working as a Financial Analyst for a Fortune 500 company then in the investment field within the banking industry. He then joined Proclinic Medical Supplies, a surgical glove manufacturer with offices in Montreal, New York and a plant in Spain, serving as President and Managing Director of the North American division. In 1992, seeing an opportunity in the medical devices industry, he created Advanced Surgi-Pharm Inc., which would, along with Batrik Medical Manufacturing Inc. and Imperial Surgical Ltd., come to form the Surgmed™ Surgical Group of Companies.
Suzy Bairos joined the Surgmed™ team in 1997, largely to support general operations. Within three years, Ms. Bairos had risen to the position of Vice President of International Sales, assuming the responsibility of developing and supporting the company’s international customer base and domestic dealers. In 2003, Ms. Bairos was appointed Corporate Vice President of the entire Surgical Group of Companies. She is responsible for the company’s adherence to rigorous quality standards and she oversees production, customer service, sales, marketing, and the development of new business opportunities.
Marty Cohen joined the Surgmed™ Group of Companies in 2006. Mr. Cohen has two degrees from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. He has a Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Political Science, and a Bachelor of Commerce with a Major in Accounting. After graduation, Mr. Cohen joined Richter, Usher & Vineberg (now known as RSM Richter), one of the largest independent accounting, business advisory and consulting firms in Canada. He has over thirty years of extensive management experience from both a financial and operational perspective in both public practice and private industry. Mr. Cohen is responsible for the financial aspects of the Surgmed™ Group of Companies, and is actively involved in all other segments of the company.
Nanda Varier joined the Surgmed team in 2011 and oversees the marketing, sales and customer care functions. Nanda brings extensive sales and marketing experience from the medical device industry covering a wide range of specialties gained with leading global brands including BOC/Ohmeda, Hellige/E for M, Aesculap, Fujinon, Elekta, and Siemens. He was most recently Director of Global Marketing at Stellate Systems, a Natus Medical company. Nanda has a Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering from the University of Madras and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
